March Madness (March 2025)
Paris Mountain State Park
March came in like a lamb with beautiful weather. We took a hike at our local state park, Paris Mountain. It was a gorgeous day with temperatures in the upper 70s. The trails at Paris Mountain still showed damage from Hurricane Helene.
Sound of Music
We had a date night at Bob Jones University to see the Sound of Music. We don't often get the chance to dress up. It's been 10 months since we were on campus for an activity. Lots of memories walking by the Alumni Building where we both worked for many years.
Allen Jacobs Memorial Prayer Breakfast
Thank you to everyone at Bob Jones University for hosting the Allen Jacobs Memorial Prayer Breakfast. It was a wonderful tribute to Allen and the law enforcement officers in Greenville County who have sacrificed their lives over the last 100 years. We were able to attend this year with both of our grandsons.
Several currently serving officers were recognized for their bravery and achievements. If you are interested in contributing to the Allen Jacobs Scholarship for criminal justice majors at BJU, go to this link: https://give.bju.edu/donate-endowment/ then click on the I Want to Support dropdown menu and find the Allen Jacobs Scholarship. While there you can also see the Donny Jacobs Scholarship for nursing majors.
Michigan Trip
We took the grandsons on a quick trip to Michigan during their spring break. They got to see their great grandmother Jacobs and a great aunt and great uncle. We stayed at a motel in Monroe, MI. The grandsons got to swim and play pool. We also stopped at the Henry Ford Museum to see some old cars.
Pickleball
The beautiful weather led to several days of playing Pickleball with our grandsons and helping to teach our daughter to play as well. The grandsons are getting really good. Northside Park Pickleball courts are usually busy in the morning, but few people are there in the early afternoon.
