Riverbanks Zoo, Biltmore, and Other Things (May 2024)
When did going to the Zoo become about things other than seeing animals? We took all three of our grandchildren to the Riverbanks Zoo but for the express purpose of doing the ropes course and the climbing wall. We did happen to see a few animals as we walked back and forth. But they seemed to have a great time.
Early May included a visit to Bob Jones University to say goodbye to the last group of students that we taught. We also went to a movie and drove up to Hendersonville to eat a breakfast of blueberry pancakes at the Fireside Restaurant. It’s our favorite place to eat breakfast. Our May also included going to the movies to watch Unsung Hero. We also attended the Memorial Service for Greenville County Law Enforcement. Finally, the pool opened in our community and my granddaughter and I went for our first swim of the summer. Yes it was cold.
We have enjoyed visiting the Biltmore House over the years, especially at Christmas time. However, my wife had always wanted to visit in the spring but work obligations made it difficult. Since we are retired, there was no excuse not to be there. This trip was about the gardens and the greenhouse to see the spring flowers.
