Learning Pickleball (Fall 2022)

Pickleball Clinic, Fall 2022

One of our favorite retirement activities is playing pickleball. We both attended a pickleball clinic in the fall of 2022. We used Upstate Pickleball
Clinic
. We were taught by John Moore and Sandy Halkett. We both took the Intro to Pickleball clinic and Don also took the Basic Fundamentals clinic. Each clinic was 2 hours. Since then we play with each other; we play other couples, and Don has occasionally played with a group of men from church. In the last year we have also played with our grandsons. We have played on pickleball courts in Greenville, SC, in Myrtle Beach, SC, and in Michigan.

We find that pickleball gives us a good aerobic workout for about an hour. It also helps to build flexibility and reflexes. It is competitive and provides social interaction. It helps build new physical skills and keeps us active in a sport that we can play together.
