A Typical Day at the Beach (November 2025)

Typical Day

Since we do a variety of things each day at the beach, it is difficult to describe a typical day. But Monday of Week 3 is as close as you can get to typical. I started the day by waking up at 5:00 am, getting dressed, pouring a cup of coffee, and reading my Bible. Just before 6:00 am I walked down the steps from the 20th floor to the 3rd floor Fitness Center which opens at 6:00 am. I rode the stationary recumbent bicycle for 40 minutes, lifted dumb bells for 20 minutes, and walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill. While exercising I listen to a variety of YouTube channels some musical and some informational. Tammie came into the Fitness Center to begin her exercise regime about 15 minutes before I left. Around 7:30 am I took the elevator to our room, changed into jeans and a hoodie and ate breakfast which consisted of cereal and toast.

By 8:00 am I was walking down the steps again to the 1st floor. I then proceeded to walk down Ocean Boulevard for one mile. At that point I got on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and walked to the end of the Boardwalk which was about another 1.5 miles. I then turned around and retraced my steps on the Boardwalk but instead of walking down Ocean Boulevard I walked on the beach back to our hotel. The 5-mile round trip took me about 1 1/2 hours. I reached our condo about 9:45 am.

After shaving I sat on our balcony and read and did games on my phone for about an hour. I then did some work on my computer which included doing some financial work, reading the news, and doing some research about future travels. Around 11;45 am we both had lunch. Tammie ate steamed brussel sprouts and I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and some chips.

Around 12:30 pm we went on a walk on the beach. We walked north on the beach for a mile. We took a few pictures and collected a few seashells and then returned to our condo. We were back around 1:30 pm. We then changed into swimming gear and went back down to the hot tub where we spent another 1/2 hour. After changing we then decided to practice dancing for another 1/2 hour. We are currently learning East Coast Swing. We have about 10 different moves that we are learning. That took us until about 3:00 pm.

After cleaning up from our trip to the hot tub, we walked down the steps again to the 1st floor and walked over to the parking garage. From there we drove about 12 blocks to the Captain Hook Miniature Golf. We played both courses there and returned to our condo about 4:30 pm.

For dinner we had leftover fried chicken from eating out at Cracker Barrel the day before. After dinner we practiced our East Coast Swing dance moves one more time. The rest of the evening we just enjoyed reading and watching YouTube videos before heading to bed around 10:00 pm.

That was a pretty typical day for us. We go out to eat two or three times per week and each week we try to do one big activity like seeing a show or taking a trip to the surrounding areas.
